Amaterasu is June’s Goddess of the month, the 2nd shade in the new monthly Goddess series which will feature a specially curated cheek or face product each month. Would you like to suggest a Goddess? You can do so here!
Amaterasu is a part of the Japanese myth cycle and also a major deity of the Shinto religion. She is seen as the goddess of the sun, but also of the universe. The name Amaterasu derived from Amateru meaning “shining in heaven.” The meaning of her whole name, Amaterasu-ōmikami, is “the great august kami (god) who shines in the heaven”. Based on the mythological stories in Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, the Emperors of Japan are considered to be direct descendants of Amaterasu. (source: Wikipedia)
Amaterasu is a lustrous bronze with golden shift. Multipurpose, this shade can be used as a bronzer, or a highlighter or even on the eyes. Shown applied heavily in the bottom swatch, and blended out in the top right swatch. Full and Mini jars have top label art.
This week’s featured 25% off product is the lovely “Anthousai” collection. My newest product release, these shades are gorgeous, buttery smooth, lustrous color-shifting, spring colors. This series focuses on the overall concept of metamorphoses, and myths of maidens turned into flowers and plants. Each one is inspired by the intricate color relationships found in specific classical paintings.
This is the fourth and last collection of the Greek Nymph series- but this doesn’t mean that I’ll stop pursuing my intense special interest in Greek mythology… just that I’ll be looking for more lesser known themes to try as I’ve done a lot of Greek mythology colors over the years and I really love delving deep into history when I work.
The nebula-inspired GALACTIC collection is this week’s featured product, marked down to 25% off savings! This collection was released last month, and this is it’s debut on sale as a weekly featured product.
