Aromaleigh is an independent producer of small batch, artisan crafted cosmetics with unique/complex color effects and an expansive shade range.
My products are inspired by my many special interests and passions, with a focus on fine art, history, science and mythology. Aromaleigh is pronounced “Aroma-lee” and was founded in Rochester, NY in the year 1998. It initially started off as an aromatherapy/fragrance company and soon expanded to offer a full range of cosmetics.
My formal education was spent at Rochester Institute of Technology, where I pursued multiple degree paths (painting/illustration, photography, graphic design, printing sciences, electronic publishing), finally resulting in my Master of Fine Arts. I worked for many years in advertising and graphic design as an Art Director, before fully focusing on Aromaleigh. The themes, formulations and products you see today at Aromaleigh are the culmination of seventeen years of experience in the industry, and represent the marriage of my true loves – art, history, and mythology– with color.
Aromaleigh is a small, one woman, neurodivergent business (autistic owned and operated).
Aromaleigh products are never tested on animals and are proprietary formulations, never repackaged. I am vegan-friendly, and products that are vegan are marked. If you have a question about a specific color’s ingredients or use, please send a message! Carol, who handles my customer service portal will assist you.
What does “neurodivergent” mean? I am on the Autism spectrum and have ADHD. I feel extremely blessed that I have Aromaleigh to provide support for myself, my Son and our rescue pups, Stella and Luna. While I am considered to be a “high functioning” Autistic person, I deal with constant, mostly invisible, challenges on a daily basis. In order to be the best I can be, I rely on a strictly fixed routine and methods in order to be able to optimally operate Aromaleigh.
I presently have three autism awareness/acceptance themed eyeshadows, which raise funds for Autistic Self Advocacy Network, and The Golden Hat Foundation. These are causes near and dear to my heart- here’s one of the best definitions of Autism I’ve ever read.
I deeply appreciate your visit, and look forward to filling your order!
** If you’ve ended up on this page due to a web search for the book “Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals” ** (Findhorn Press, 2002), you’ve found the right Kristen Leigh Bell. However, I don’t currently sell aromatherapy blends for pets as of 2003. I don’t do any consulting services/interviews/appearances in relation to my book. The contact/product availability information in “Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals” is over a decade out of date, but the recipes for those products can be found in the book, thank you!
